Kati’s interest in the English language began at an early age, and she would often read grammar books for fun. People of all ages would ask her to edit their writing, and she began a side business specializing in college entrance essays and writing for science and engineering researchers. Kati also volunteered as an international student liaison, helping visiting students adjust to their lives and host families.
After graduating from Boston University, Kati moved to Spain to dance professionally. However, the call to help people with their English returned and soon she was the head of a thriving business teaching students of all ages and learning goals. Upon returning to Boston, Kati became involved in immigrant advocacy and began teaching English for community non-profit organizations. Kati then studied dance at the University of New Mexico, and now teaches English in Denver with LCI.

At LCI, she has met people from all over the world. She finds it interesting to watch students learn from each other and broaden their horizons, just as she is doing.

Sarah’s passion for languages began in middle school, when she became friends with a French-speaking Swiss-Canadian. Since that time, she has studied French, Spanish, German, and Arabic, and is starting to learn Brazilian Portuguese. Sarah has lived in various countries, including France, South Africa and, most recently, Nicaragua.
In Nicaragua, Sarah spent three years with the Peace Corps teaching EFL (English as a Foreign Language) to high school, university and adult students. She also trained teachers how to teach. Prior to teaching abroad, she taught English to immigrant and refugee students in different states in the US. Thanks to these international and intercultural experiences, Sarah has developed a passion for learning from people from around the world, a passion that she continues to share at LCI.
