How is studying English in the USA relevant to your personal or professional goals?
My career goal is to be a successful businesswoman. I wanted to learn English, experience American education and culture, meet people from different countries and learn more about the world. All those things will help me develop my career.
Why did you decide to study English in the USA?
Because of the advanced technology and education, I decided to come to study in the US.
What do you like best about studying English at LCI Houston?
I like the facilities and language environment at LCI and the textbooks they use. I am able to improve my English in all four aspects of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The teachers are very good and they know how to interact with students. The LCI [staff and faculty] are all very nice and helpful. My classmates are very nice and friendly as well.
How long have you been studying at LCI Houston? How has your English improved?
I have been studying at LCI Houston for three months. Besides the course at LCI, I also read some books in English after class to improve my English. The English course at LCI improves and consolidates my English skills very well, especially my writing skills.
What did you observe about American people and culture in your time studying English in the USA?
Life in America is very quiet and everyone has his/her own privacy. American people are very nice, friendly and helpful.
How have you handled language and cultural differences in the US? Has it been easy or difficult to make friends?
I try to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing as much as I can. I also like to socialize with other people here in order to improve my English listening and speaking, as well as make friends. I feel it is really easy to make friends in the USA and people here are all very nice.
