A change of status occurs when you are already in United States with a B1/B2, J1/J2, or other visa and would like to make the change to an F1 student status without leaving the country. LCI Language Center can assist you with this process and in most cases, can issue you the I-20 the same day. (All I-20’s are issued within 12-48 hours of registration.) Please note the I-539 application to USCIS must be done by the student, either with an agent or lawyer or by the student themselves.
